Making off-topic posts that have little to nothing to do with the subject of the thread or music in general constitutes spamming. It is often natural for the conversation in a thread to stray off-topic, and this will be tolerated to a point. If done to an excess, the off-topic posts will be deleted and participants may receive a short ban from the forum, depending on the severity of the offense. On advertisements, you can also use the ads' section of the site. Advertisements that point to sites that caters to services that are more than 50% similar to the services that this site provides is not allowed. Blatant, deliberate spamming or advertising will not be tolerated at all and will result in more severe disciplinary action.
A fairly obvious rule. We love music here and we choose to respect the rights of the musicians and artists who create the music we enjoy by not discussing or providing links for the illegal downloading of music. If you do choose to download music illegally keep this to yourself. This rule does not apply to legal free streams/samples - if you are unsure of the legality of a link please PM a forum moderator before posting.
We should recognize the fact that all of us are of different nationalities, as such, please ensure that all postings are in english. This must be the only language to be used when using this forum.
Do not flame other members. This includes name-calling, deliberate belittling, and making offensive statements regarding the race, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation of another member. The lifeblood of this forum is debate, and it may often be tempting to resort to offensive speech in an argument, particularly if it involves an unreasonable or ignorant person. Again, this will be tolerated to a point, but making posts simply for the purpose of flaming another member or utilizing extremely offensive language will result in post deletions and a possible ban.
While the moderation of heated discussions is fairly lenient in this forum, trolling is simply not tolerated. Trolling includes creating threads or posting in the thread of an artist or band simply to belittle them. If you go into an artist thread and state plainly that they suck, you should at least provide legitimate reasons for your opinion. If you do not, your post will be deleted; persistent offenders will be banned. Consider this your only warning.
You are not a moderator. While it is perfectly acceptable to provide redirectorial links to new users, you do not need to tell anyone to get back on topic, that they are breaking the rules, or that they are going to be banned. If you believe that a post requires the attention of a moderator, simply utilize the report button.
This is a fairly simple rule. You are allowed to use swear words, but do not do so to an excess. If a post contains an unnecessary, distasteful amount of swearing, it will be deleted. Also, offensive statements or slurs regarding race, religion, or other sensitive issues should not be used at all. Do so and you'll find yourself staring at the ban screen.
Not every post is expected to be an essay or even a paragraph, here are examples of short posts:
* this band sucks!
* I luv this band, thay rok!!
* I hate this band, cuz they are dumb and stupid cuz they are sissy boyband *bleep*!
Such posts constitute spamming and you can expect them to be deleted. This also applies when creating new artist/band threads; please include a sufficient amount of information about the artist before creating the thread.
Moderators of this forum have diligently maintained an extensive index of artist/band threads and of other topics. Use the search feature to check if a thread already exists before creating one! It will save you the time of creating a possibly extensive post about an artist only to have it closed and deleted.
If you have any questions/complaints/comments, please feel free to PM one of the mods or make a post in the Forum Feedback and Suggestions thread.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your stay.
